Governance
Our skilled and experienced Board of five Trustees provides the leadership, strategic direction and scrutiny to ensure that BeST delivers its charitable objects, achieves and maintains compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and remains viable. BeST is regulated by the Government’s Regulator for Social Housing (RSH), who undertake review activity us to ensure we are meeting its governance and financial standards.
As part of its commitment to best practice, the Board has adopted the National Housing Federation’s Code of Governance and also seeks to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Charity Commission.
The Board is responsible for the effective governance of the business and meets on a regular basis to review delivery against our strategy, action plans for improvement and change and to monitor performance against agreed standards. Day to day management is delegated to the Executive officers and staff.
